Inter League Semi Final 5/4/2012

  • Apr 05,2012
Maybe a little against expectations the Galway Youth side have qualified for the semi final of the FAI Inter League and on Friday night they travel to face the DDSL at the Home Farm Grounds in Whitehall. Kick off is at 7.30pm.
Brian Laffey and Paid Fadden's charges qualified from their group with wins over Clare (3-2) and Roscommon (3-0) and in the process set up an away quarter final, against Kildare and from which they advanced with a 2-1 win.
Brian Duhan and Richard Fahy have been prolific scorers throughout the campaign and have scored in all three games to date.
At times, the management duo have had difficulties in fielding their strongest side, as the City's Airtricity U19 and League of Ireland teams require the same players.
On this occasion, the management duo expect to have a strong squad available, as Mervue United and Salthill Devon have faciliated the release of some players.
The Galway League were winners of this competition just two seasons ago, when they defeated the Wicklow League in the final at Drom.
