It will contain fixtures, coach contacts, and details about how U11s is run by the GFA.

End-of-season Competitive league

We are thrilled to confirm the booking of DEACY PARK for Sunday 7th May finals day, as a finale to the End-of-season Competitive league that is allowed as per PDP guidelines for U11s.

  1. There was a lot of work done in the background by the fixtures/facilities sub-committee as they put a plan in place for all the finals in EDP for all age groups over the coming months, along with Galway United multiple teams, and Galway representative multiple teams.
  2. We simply do not have enough facilities, so it is a big struggle to fit all teams in.
  3. It is a big endorsement for U11s GIRLS to get a full day in EDP for exclusive use of 4 finals.

Webpage Notes:

    1. We will have a coaches meeting next Tue 9pm on ZOOM to go through everything.

    2. We had to get the fixtures out now; since the 2 leagues with 5 teams need to start playing this coming week (as there are 5 rounds required) and includes a double-week.

    3. This is an "End of season Competitive League" as per PDP, results will be published and publicly available

    4. Dates for group games have a certain amount of flexibility

        a. Home team arrange with away team, any day including mid-week, and post confirmation of fixture to the GU11 whatsapp group

        b. Home team provide 2 referees on the day.

        c. Results via club secretaries (combined score of twin games), and post confirmation of result to the GU11 whatsapp group

        d. We don't use Heracles system from here on.

        e. If the game has not been played by the date of the next round, the game will be conceded by 1 team; it will just be a matter of deciding who has to conceed.

            i. In this case, both teams need to forward correspondence between coaches so the GFA can figure out which 1 of the 2 teams could not field a team, or would not be reasonable in trying to accommodate. All available data will be used to make a decision.

        f. All group games can be brought forward by agreement of both clubs.

        g. Reversal of venue has to be considered. In the event that the home team does not have the facilities, they will concede the game.

    5. The top 4 of every league will get to play a semi-final.

    6. The bottom team for leagues with 5 teams will miss out unfortunately

    7. Finish position in your group will determine who plays who in the semis and which team has home advantage (1 v 3, 2 v 4).

    8. Only those who win their semi-final shall play a final in EDP on Sunday 7th May.

    9. There will be 4 finals contested by 8 teams in EDP on Sunday 7th May.

    10. Semi-final and Final dates are not negotiable;

        a. Referees are supplied by the GFA

        b. if you cannot play those dates, you will have to conceed.

    11. GU11 Semi-finals Weekend 29th/30th April at home venue

        a. Day & Time will be fixed by GFA around U11 Pool of referees availability

        b. TWO Formal Referees to be organised by GFA, paid by both teams (€30 per team ie €30 per referee)

        c. Clubs can request for AM or PM slots and Sat or Sun; and these requests will be accommodated if possible.
